In an ocean long, long ago, but not so far away…

Partly rendered graphite drawing of a spiral shell with striping patterns and a hazy body emerging from the shell with a staring eye.
Prehistoric Planet: In an ocean long ago but not very far away….

More TV drawing and almost meditative shading time, this time while watching Apple’s Prehistoric Planet. Who doesn’t love an ancient giant cephalopod: all that entrancingly strange movement and probably complex but utterly alien intelligence, and all the reassurance that you’ll absolutely never encounter at your local swimming hole (because extinct)?

For regular squid joy, you should probably also follow Sarah McAnulty (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sarah_McAnulty) on Blue Sky (https://bsky.app/profile/sarahmackattack.bsky.social ) or IG (https://www.instagram.com/sarahmackattack/ ).

I virtually attended two of her public squid science lectures through Atlas Obscura (https://www.atlasobscura.com/search?q=mcanulty&kind=keyword ) during the emergency phase of the COVID pandemic. If she announces another this year on her Blue Sky, I will happily sign up again!
